Interested vs committed

Trying is just a noisy way of not doing something, chides Ken Blanchard in Smart Leadership. Many people are interested rather than committed, he rues. “They talk about trying to do something, rather than actually doing it. They make lots of noise, but fail to follow up.”

Gernalized statements are "generally iffy." Public, loud and often statemens of what you are doing, going to do, intend to do, are pretty good ways of demonstrating committment, forcing yourself to live up to you own staements and seeking feedback. I guess it comes down to that you have to walk the walk, if you are going to talk the talk.
